Join us this Wednesday, 18th of April, when David Kirk will discuss how to conceptualize and execute a successful search strategy for your career in International Relations. He will also be present for some time after the session for individual help. Please note that his counsel will be mainly geared towards non-academic jobs, and we advise you to bring printed copies of your resumes

David Kirk is the founder and CEO of DCA Ventures LLC, which owns: Fora (www.fora.community), a community engagement software that streamlines and incentivizes meaningful community engagement, VENND (www.vennd.com) , a mobile app helping couples and groups shop better together, and YourCTO (www.yourcto.co), which provides software development services to non-technical entrepreneurs. He is also an advisor to the Eliasson Group (http://eliassongroup.co/), a consultancy that helps organizations and corporations with projects related to international development, humanitarian issues, social impact and sustainability, and a contributing editor to Metro UN, a bi-weekly publication on issues relating to the United Nations.  He previously co-founded Applyifi.com, which helps startup companies in India raise investment funding. 

Prior to founding DCA Ventures, David conceptualized, created and served as executive producer of a reality television show in India and Pakistan that featured young entrepreneurs pitching a cross-border panel of investors, securing media partnerships with India’s largest English language business network and Pakistan’s largest cable television network. 

From 2009-2014, David worked in foreign policy and was named the youngest program director in the 50+ year history of the Atlantic Council, a leading think tank based in Washington, D.C.  In that role he built a dynamic young leaders program from the ground up, raising over $3 million in seed funding from government, foundation, corporate, and individual donors, and conceptualizing and launching large scale initiatives with strategic partners including the US State Department, the European Union, NATO, the Robert Bosch Stiftung, the Allianz Foundation of North America, and many others.  

Prior to joining the Council David worked as Communications Director on multiple political campaigns, including the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund where he managed successful statewide issue advocacy campaigns that generated over 200 earned media stories in the battleground states of Colorado and New Mexico.  His last campaign position was with the 2008 Presidential Inaugural Committee, which managed the first inauguration of President Barack Obama.  

David holds a MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of London School of Oriental and African Studies and a BA from Franklin University in Lugano, Switzerland.
